Train Ride with Friends

August 3, 2011 - As soon as we came back from Hollister is was time for Ashlie's birthday!  We celebrated with a pool party and lots of friends.  Included in this post are some photos of her from over the years!

CGA State Finals 2011

July 2011 - Sari went to Hollister for CGA (California Gymkhana Association) State Finals again this year.  This year I was able to go with her along with my mom, Tyler & Ashlie.  We had so much fun.  She got her first 1st place award and won her first belt buckle.  It also qualified her for a Novice Match Race!  She stayed in till the semi-finals before she was knocked out!  She did awesome!

5k time

June 18, 2011 - I talked my friends Debbie Ross and Tiffany Bolding into doing a 5k with me!  This was my first experience with drinking water at the halfway point - yeah, not a good idea!  I think I swallowed air with the water and got the worst side ache ever!  End up having to walk a portion at the end :(  But I still completed it which made me feel good!  Here's a picture of us at the finish line!

June 6, 2011 - Sari came home with ANOTHER award today - only 12 kids out of 900 got this award and she was one of them!!! Way to go Sari!!!

Sari Wins High Point Reserve

May 2011:  Sari won High Point Reserve in her division at her Gymkhana today and got a horse grooming kit!!! That's 2nd place overall for today's runs for us non-gymkhana people ;)

Trying to Catch Up!!!

Wow!!!  I'm a little behind...again :(  I knew I hadn't posted in a bit but I didn't realize how long until our home computer crashed this past week!  Tyler had a project for school that we needed pictures for so I had to revert to Facebook and our family blog for a series of pictures that encompassed the "digital years".  That's when I discovered how far behind our blog was :(  So, besides the fact I needed to get caught up - it was a good feeling to know that there was a digital copy of many of our important moments in life somewhere in cyberspace that I could refer back to.  So...I'm going to attempt to get this caught back up through use of my Facebook posts and what I can scrounge off of various memory cards laying around. 

Needless to say, our hard drive was wiped clean of all of the information from as far as we can tell.  Quite heart breaking to say the least!  I cried on the phone with my BIL when he told me :(

So wish me luck on this journey of updating our blog.  I'm going to use it as a Personal Progress Project I think lol!

This year Craig had to work for the father son campout so my dad took Tyler. Tyler had lots of fun with papa!!! My dad had to actually wake him up to go eat breakfast :)

8th Grade Promotion Dance

I was in charge of the 8th Grade Promotion Dance at Sari's middle school this year. That was a lot of fun but oh so exhausting! There were 2 of us there from basically 8 am until clean up finished about 9pm. We had some helpers in and out through the day but definitely very tiring! But the kids had a great time - especially Sari which is what makes it all worth it :)

Snaily

Tyler got an insect watch for Easter and so his first "pet" was Snaily the snail :) Snaily actually survived the watch for about 4 days when finally he would not come out of his shell anymore.

PTA Convention

In April I had the opportunity to go to the PTA convention in Long Beach with my good friend Debbie. We had a blast but were soooo tired!!!
